   Apply an understanding of the effects of interpersonal, social, and institutional oppression and discrimination in assessing and planning change in service delivery systems an organizations. 

 

 Rationale:

   I chose the Down syndrome power point I did my junior year because I feel that it demonstrates my understanding of the effects of interpersonal, social, and institutional oppression and discrimination in assessing and planning change in service delivery systems and organizations. My classmate Misty and I conducted an interview with a mother of a Down syndrome child. She made me a lot more aware of what Down syndrome is and how it has affected her life in many ways. People with a mental illness are oppressed everyday and the only way to prevent it is to educate people about what mental illness is.
