My View on my leadership skills

1.  Assess your role within the cohort?  Did you choose this role or was this role ascribed to you?  Explain. I think my role in this cohort is the happy one. I always try to have a positive attitude about stressful situations. Laughter helps take stress away from my life and I hope others as well.

2.  Describe your leadership qualities. I feel that my leadership qualities come from my positive attitude and vocal opinions about subjects I feel strongly about. I do not always take the leadership within the whole cohort. I do however become more vocal about my opinion and my ideas in smaller groups or one on one situation.

3.  Assess what leadership roles you have and haven't taken within the cohort.  Why did you make the choices you did to lead or not lead?  I feel that I hold up my part of the assignments. I normally volunteer to help a group or an upcoming project. Sometimes I think it is better to let others who want to lead do so.

4.  Assess the possibilities for leadership in the cohort environment; how will you choose to respond to these possibilities?  What risks are there? If I need or I see fit for me to be the main leader in the group I will. I don’t think there are any risk involved because if someone did not like my ideas, I would want to here there suggestions.

My classmates view on my leadership skills

Hello Miss Jamie,

I believe that you have a lot of strong leadership abilities.  I have seen you grow tremendously since the beginning of the social work program.  You have not only lead out in small groups but large ones as well.  I have seen you stand (literally) under great pressure and handle yourself amazingly well.  You don't give in to others and always voice your opinions in a way that is well received.  I can see you being a great success at whatever you choose to do!

Joan

Jamie,

I have really enjoyed working with you on several assignments and your enthusiasm has helped us all to get through some very rough spots. Don't ever sell yourself short-you have more to offer than just good looks. As Adam has pointed out many times some people only see the surface you but we all know the thoughtful, intelligent, compassionate person inside. Stay true to your self and stick to what your gut tells you and you will be fine. I look forward to seeing the fantastic social worker that you will become.

Linda

Jamie,

I've seen you take the leadership role within our cohort many times, whether it be with a group project or simply getting a card or a gift for someone, on behalf of all of us, on a special day.

I think one thing I admire about you is that you know how to kick back and relax but you also know how to get the job done. You live your life pretty even-keeled while some others may be all business and no party, or all party and no business. I sometimes find myself wanting to be all sleep, all eat, and no business, but you manage to call me and kick my butt in gear!

Chops,

Hey kitten, I have seen you grow oodles this year.  You are far more confident than last year and take on challenges much faster than before. I feel like your best leadership skill is that you have an uncanny ability to be honest with people without hurting or offending them.  It is wonderful.  Everyone in this cohort plays a role and at times we tease you about "just being pretty" but you are far more than a pretty face.

Jen

Jaime,

You are a strong leader. You are SO much more than just a pretty face! True you are a beautiful girl but you are SO intelligent and you are one of the first people to volunteer to help when something needs to be done. You are such a special person.

your friend,

Adam
